Before nominating, please be sure to reference the criteria below to ensure the individual is eligible to receive the award(s). Your nomination will not be considered if the individual does not meet the eligibility requirements. 


Remember: The committee requires accurate and complete information in order to make an informed selection.


This year, the awards include:

REALTOR® OF THE YEAR AWARD

This award recognizes the REALTOR® who has contributed outstanding leadership and service to the Board. This criteria includes character, integrity, personality and cooperation with others; dedication and contributions to the real estate profession; participation on the local, state, or national levels; commitment to professional growth; attendance at Board functions and activities; community service.  The winner of this award will be in the running for DAR's REALTOR®  of the Year Award. The criteria are:

1) Local Board Activity (35%) -- Served as Officer, Director, Committee Chairperson. Served on a committee or task force. Active participation in the Board at any level.

2) State Board Activity (10%) -- Served as Officer, Director, Committee Chairperson. Served on a committee or task force. Active participation in the Board at any level.

3) NAR Activity (5%) -- Attendance at National Convention, Active participation, RNMI, membership in NAR endorsed organizations. Serving as officer, director, committee chairperson, committee member and/or task force member.

4) Business Accomplishment (20%) -- Professional designations; candidates for professional designations; membership in professional organizations (Rotary, Lions, Women’s Council); production accomplishments.  Awards, i.e., Small-Business of the Year.  Designations/Awards through other real estate related groups. Past ROTY (local and state); licenses earned; other education (degrees); instruction; owning company; business growth.

5) Civic Activity (10%) -- Active in community, church, school, politics, service organizations.  Improving public image. Giving something back to the community. Work with non-profit organizations and/or charities.

6) REALTOR® Spirit (15%) -- Supportive of others in industry; personal philosophy; anything they have done to improve REALTOR® image; being accessible to your local Board, i.e., volunteering time (not necessarily a chairperson); presenting a professional, ethical, public image.  Applicants define in their own words how they have REALTOR® Spirit.

7) Significant Contribution (5%) -- Three most significant contributions applicant feels they have made to the NCCBOR.


REALTOR® SPIRIT AWARD

An NCCBOR REALTOR® member who exemplifies the REALTOR® spirit via high principles of integrity, adherence to the REALTOR® Code of Ethics, and furtherance of the principles of good real estate practice amongst Brokers, agents, and the general public; and who has made a significant contribution to the association or the industry within the last year.


GOOD NEIGHBOR AWARD

This award recognizes individuals who have devoted time and/or resources on local, state, national or international humanitarian efforts. Those eligible to be selected for this award include REALTOR® & Affiliate Members who, outside of Board or company activity, voluntarily contribute to a community service activity to the betterment of the community (not necessarily related to real estate issues). The winner of this award will be in the running for DAR's Good Neighbor Award.


AFFILIATE OF THE YEAR AWARD

An award given to an affiliate member who is in good standing, who has made outstanding contributions to the membership, and who has gone above and beyond to improve the relationship between the REALTOR® and Affiliate membership. The criteria include character, integrity, personality, and cooperation with others; dedication and contributions to the real estate profession; attendance at Board functions and activities; community service.


HALL OF FAME

An award given to a current or former REALTOR® member of the NCCBOR or predecessor board for a minimum of 20 years who was either an officer or member of the NCBOR Board of Directors or performed meritorious service to the NCCBOR over an extended period of time or shall have been in a business or industry that is related to the field of real estate and have provided a service to the NCCBOR.

1) Inductees must be a current or former REALTOR® member of the NCCBOR or of a predecessor board.

a.    An inductee shall have been a licensed REALTOR® for a minimum of 20 years.

b.    An inductee shall have been either an officer or a member of the NCCBOR Board of Directors.

2) Meritorious service to the NCCBOR over an extended period, may serve as a substitution to the preceding qualifications. If not a REALTOR®, any inductee so named shall be, or shall have been, in a business or industry that is related to the field of real estate and have provided a service to the NCCBOR.

3) Hall of Fame nominations will be solicited from the general membership.

4) Where practical, all living members of the Hall of Fame shall be provided the opportunity to nominate for inclusion in the Hall of Fame any persons they choose who meet the above criteria.  Each of these existing members shall be provided with (a) a roster of the current Hall of Fame membership; (b) a list of all former past presidents of the NCCBOR; and, (c) a roster of past REALTORS® of the Year, for their use in considering persons to nominate. 

5) The Awards Committee shall annually make every effort, but are not required, to nominate for inclusion into the Hall of Fame following the above guidelines.

6) Nominees for induction will not be made public. Only confirmed Hall of Fame inductees will be made public. 


MEL STOUT ETHICS AWARD

A current or past REALTOR® member of the NCCBOR who best exemplifies/exemplified the ideals and goals set forth in the Preamble to the REALTORS® Code of Ethics. Click here to view the REALTORS® Code of Ethics.


EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD

An individual who exemplifies the utmost in Education expertise within the real estate field.
